The IISL introduced the Asia Pacific Regional Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition in 1999. The winner of this round represents the Asia-Pacific region at the World Finals, which takes place in the framework of the IISL's annual Colloquium, a contained event of the International Astronautical Congress.
The 2016 Asia Pacific Regional Round will take place at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, India, at the beginning of May, 2016. The Asia Pacific Regional Round is governed by the Official Rules of Manfred Lachs Moot Court Competition as well as the Asia Pacific Supplemental Rules.
For the 2016 Oral Rounds of the Asia Pacific Regional Round, the total number of teams will be limited to 20, following the requirements stipulated in Art. 4 (B) of the Asia Pacific Rules.
